David has worked in the hospitality/restaurant industry for over 40 years. For the past 34 years he has worked in the high-end lodging and fine dining segment. During the course of his career he has served many notable people from the world of politics, business & industry, and entertainment such as Presidents Ronald Reagan, George Bush, and Jimmy Carter, Senators, and Cabinet members:Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, The Crown Prince of Luxemborg, every sitting Governor of SC over the past 28 years, Steve Jobs, the Global CEO of BMW, Van Cliburn and Carol Burnett, Martina Navratolova, and Raymond Floyd to name a few. David is certified by The Protocol School of Washington® as an instructor of Business and Dining Etiquette and International Protocol. He has been teaching dining etiquette for 20 years and conducts Business and Dining Etiquette sessions with many companies’ management new hires as well as many social groups. A member of IFSEA for 19 years, David has served on the International Board of Directors and has served three terms as President of the local branch. Additionally, as a member of the SCHA, David is a founding Director of the Spartanburg Area Restaurant Assn. (SARA) and served in 2008 and 2009 as President.
In 2001 he was the civilian chairperson of the Phillip A Connely dining award team to determine “the best of the best” in the US Army’s dining services around the world. He serves on the advisory board of the culinary programs at two local high schools and one local college. He is also a founding director of the Spartanburg County Food Rescue. In his personal time he enjoys fishing of all sorts, reading and the outdoors. He resides in Spartanburg.
